Artists Bio: Alison Louise BA Hons
After travelling around England and parts of Europe Alison studied and gained a BA honours degree in Art, and then went on to do a diploma in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University London.
Alison describes herself as a colourist, fascinated by the interplay of colour, shape and texture. The starting point for her work comes from an essence drawn out of a visual and/or emotional stimuli, the nature of the work is achieved by a process allowing an intutive and spontaneous response. Alison has a love of all things creative including creation itself, the landscape, the countryside, the sea and her wardrobe. She seeks to obtain the life essence of all that flows from the Divine and to encapsulate it through whatever she finds to create. Some of Alisons work is prophetic in nature. She has had testimonies about her work saying that her images are very mood evoking in a positive way.
Artists Statement
As it says in my art quote above colours and music are a thread in the fragrance of the dance of life. I see myself as creating visual music through a rhythm of colour and creativity, and I also love to sing and dance spontaneously as part of the process of painting and making, and as I sing it's like I hear the colour in the sound and then can translate it onto canvas, the act of dancing and movement helps me to be spontaneous and free when using the paintbrush and materials . Which is why I have called some of my workshops 'Dancing with my Paintbrush'. I'm seeking to input the creativity of the spirit through dance, song, paint and writing. and to let that expression be a conduit to draw viewers into a realm of peace, joy, calm and love.
